How to sign up for Versa without messing it up
Register a Versa account from your phone in 10 minutes. The right order (link first, then app), the referral code screen, and what happens after you submit.
Quick answer
- Open Daus's link first, then download the app. Code VDAUSDK must go in during sign-up, not after.

The right order: link first, then app
Many people go straight to searching “Versa” in the App Store, install it, and sign up. The account gets created, but without a code. By the time they try to claim the reward they notice the code is missing, and by then it’s too late. So start from this link:

If the link doesn’t open the app or the code field is empty, don’t worry. You can still type VDAUSDK yourself on the referral code screen, as long as the account hasn’t been created yet.
Who can register
Versa is open to Who can open an account: Malaysian citizens aged 18 and above with a MyKad. PRs and foreign nationals can’t open an account. One person can only have one individual account, and there are no joint accounts.
If you work overseas, you can still register. You’ll just need that country’s tax number (TIN), a Malaysian phone number, and the app can only be downloaded while your phone’s location is in Malaysia. Your phone also needs Supported phones: Android 11 and above, iOS 15 and above.

Open Daus's link first
Tap Daus's referral link before downloading the app. It takes you to the App Store or Play Store with code VDAUSDK attached.

- Install the official Versa app. Make sure the developer is Versa Asia Sdn Bhd. Never install an APK sent over WhatsApp or Telegram.
- Tap Sign Up. Open the app and tap Sign Up. Do not tap Log In, because you do not have an account yet.
- Enter your Malaysian phone number. Type your own phone number. It receives an OTP every time you cash out, so use a number you actually hold.
- Enter the SMS OTP. Type the 6-digit code from the SMS. Never share this code with anyone, including people claiming to be Versa staff.
- Make sure VDAUSDK is there. This is the most important screen. Make sure the referral code field shows VDAUSDK. If it is empty, type it in before continuing.
- Create your email and password. Use an email you check often. Make the password strong and different from your email or bank password.
- Verify your email. Open your email and enter the OTP. Not there after 5 minutes? Check your Spam or Promotions folder.
Referral code screen: check it twice
When you reach the referral code screen, pause for a moment. Make sure the field shows VDAUSDK. If you opened it from Daus’s link, the code is usually already filled in. If it’s empty, type it manually.

Why does Daus keep hammering this point? Because every month someone DMs him “Daus, I already signed up but forgot to put the code, can I add it?” The honest answer: no. Versa itself doesn’t entertain requests to add or change the referral code once the account exists.
Already registered without a code?
You can’t add it, but you lose nothing by using Versa. Every tutorial on this site is still for you. Later, once you’re comfortable, you can invite friends to sign up using your own code and earn RM10 each. How to do that is in the refer a friend tutorial.
After you hit submit, what happens?
Registration doesn’t end here. Once your email is verified, the app takes you straight to verification: MyKad photo, selfie, employment questions, and the Suitability Assessment Test. All of that is covered in the verify your account tutorial.
After submitting, verification usually takes Account verification time: 2 to 4 business days. While you wait, you can read about your first cash in so once your account is approved, you already know what to do.
Reward summary (so there’s no surprise later)
The RM10 reward is Versa’s official referral programme. Full conditions:
- Sign up using code VDAUSDK or Daus’s link, during registration.
- Account is verified and approved by Versa.
- First cash in of RM100 or more in a single transaction into any Versa fund.
- RM10 arrives as fund units, When the referral reward arrives: within 30 business days after conditions are met.
RM10 is small, and Daus is telling you upfront: don’t sign up just for RM10. Sign up because you want a place to save and invest that you actually understand. The reward is just a bonus.

No, that's Versa's official rule. This tutorial is still useful either way, and later you can refer friends with your own code.
Can you open a joint account, or two accounts?
