Differences you actually feel in real life

1. Shariah. Cash-i invests in Islamic money market instruments through the AHAM Aiiman Enhanced-i Profit Fund. Cash invests in fixed deposits spread across Malaysian banks through the AHAM Enhanced Deposit Fund. If Shariah compliance is compulsory for you, the choice is clear.

2. Withdrawal speed. This is the difference most people actually feel. Quest: where the reward lands

Booster quest rewards go into Which fund receives quest rewards: Versa Cash or Cash-i, whichever has the higher balance on the last day of the monthChecked 16 Sep 2026 · Source: Versa Help Centre #24644460247575 ↗. If your balances are equal, Versa Cash becomes the default. So if you hold both, the reward follows whichever balance is bigger on the last day of the month.

Is the small difference worth it?

A simple example: a 0.39% a year difference on RM10,000 works out to about RM39 a year, or RM3.25 a month. For some people, withdrawing the same day is worth more than RM3 a month. For others, that RM39 matters. Neither answer is wrong.

Honest downside

  • Cash-i: the base rate is usually lower than Cash. Booster quests can close that gap, but only if you actually complete the quest (Auto Save, keep RM1,000).
  • Cash: cash out doesn’t land same day. If you’re the type who needs money urgently, T+1 can feel slow, especially if you request on a Friday evening.
  • Both: not a bank deposit, no PIDM, and the rate isn’t guaranteed.

Can you hold both?

Yes. Some people keep their emergency fund in Cash-i (for the fast withdrawal) and medium-term savings in Cash (for the rate). Switching from Cash to Cash-i takes Switch Versa Cash to Cash-i: T+3 business daysChecked 16 Sep 2026 · Source: Versa Help Centre #12596544223255 ↗.
